Right in time for Christmas! Today we got to work with newborn baby Cooper. The shot of cooper on the football took a while to setup but was worth the time.

This is our third photoshoot with Scott. He is now 7 months old. Since Halloween is right around the corner Scott’s mother wanted to get some pictures at a pumpkin patch.

Double Wedding = Double Fun

I want to start this post off by saying Ravi and Anna were probably the best clients I have worked with to date. Ravi always has a smile on his face and Anna compliments that smile perfectly with one of her own. This assignment was one of the more difficult assignments I have ever had. Two weddings in two days, 10 hours of coverage each day. I was beat the next day but I had help from 3 other photographers. The first wedding was a traditional Catholic wedding, the 2nd was a Indian Wedding. Both were lots of fun. Here are a few moments I enjoyed:

Jill and I had a great time taking pictures of baby Alex. Just 3 weeks ago we did maternity pictures of Alex’s mom. Alex was really easy to work with. He slept most of the time.

Yellowstone Day 7

Well today was the last full day for us in the park and it was my birthday. We woke up bright and early to head out and to find and photograph wildlife. Around 8am we found 3 Otter’s playing in a creek. I got plenty of great photos. Jill and I took a short hike to Wraith falls and got to the the waterfall all to ourselves. This was one of the best birthdays I have ever had!

Yellowstone Day 6

On day 6 we headed back into Mammoth. On the way we got to see many things. We saw the Grand Tetons in the distance, more thermal features, the Yellowstone Grand Canyon with the bonus of a half frozen waterfall and of course plenty of wildlife.

While watching the waterfall from a viewpoint we witnessed a good portion of the frozen section of the waterfall break free. This was really a great and memorable moment!

Yellowstone Day 5

Day 5 has been awesome. Today we focused mostly on the natural geological features of the park. MacNeal was very good at explaining the features to the group.

For photos I mostly focused on the colors and textures. Later on in the day MacNeal and I went out and did some night shots. Being out in the park by Old Faithful at midnight is an experience I will never forget. All you hear are geysers going off and the occasional animal calling. I will never forget this night!

Yellowstone Day 4

Today we left Mammoth and rode a snow coach into the park towards Old Faithful. Our tour guide Macneal has a great eye for wildlife. I grew up with my dad and uncle who taught me how to find wildlife. Being colorblind people always assumed a disadvantage for me, but when it comes to wildlife it helped me tune my eyes for movement. Often times during this trip I caught myself finding wildlife at the same time as our guide but man he seems to be in tune at a level I hope to some day reach.

Today we toured many parts. We saw many different geysers, mud pots, and other odd geological features of the park many with beautiful vistas.

During our trip we stopped at a warming hut to eat lunch and spoke with the local wildlife management staff. They told us about a new carcass just down the way from the warming hut. After we ate we headed out to take a look. We saw a coyote come in (in a picture below) to feed off of it. After about 15 minutes of watching we decided to leave. On the way out we heard about a wolf sighting in the area along the tree line close to the carcass. So we made a quick stop to check it out. Macneal spotted a single wolf in the distance. I got a few shots of him (see below). This was a young wolf in a pack of 8. Apparently he stays behind. This is a wolf pack that is brand new to the park. One that they knew nothing about.

So we had a very exciting day!

Yellowstone Day 3

Well I tried and tried to upload pictures but my phone was not having it.

Today we cross country skied, so most of the day was taken up doing that. I did get some good shots of 3 elk bedding down, and a few nice frozen waterfalls.

BTW, this was my first time to ever ski. So I am pretty sore. I am guessing the 60 pounds backup with all of my gear didn’t help me out much. Oh and I envy the photographer I met this morning. He had a 600mm lens with him and got some great shots of a wolf this morning. I am still crossing my fingers on getting a wolf shot.

We are inside the park close to Old Faithful, still no internet connection but cell is much better. So I have uploaded pictures below
